Two groups of specialized doctors have been flown in to the country, to conduct free surgery on patients at Juba Teaching Hospital.
The first group will be conducting operations on patients with cleft lip deformities.
The doctors have been brought in by an international Non-Governmental Organization, Samaritans Purse, and will conduct the free operations until the 28th October.
They are hoping to work on 80 patients with cleft lips within this period.
The second group of doctors, specializing in bone treatments, was also flown in from the United States to conduct surgery on patients with broken bones.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Yata Lori, told Radio Miraya that the surgeons will be working alongside South Sudanese doctors.
