(8th June, 2013) - About 408 returnees from Sudan have arrived in Bentiu in Unity State after being stranded in Renk for a year.
The Unity State Minister of Social Welfare, Lubna Abdallah told Radio Miraya, on Saturday, that the returnees will be transported to their home counties.
She also stated that number of humanitarian agencies have been assisting the returnees on their journey home.
“They were transported by IOM, and the South Sudan Red Cross also gave them some needs and World Food Program gave them food.”
Minister Abdullah further added that the returnees will be given plots of land as part of the resettlement program.
