Cameroon
The Anglophone crisis continues to drive humanitarian needs in Northwest and Southwest regions.
In the last week of April, clashes between secessionists and the army escalated in Muyuka subdivision. Residents of at least two villages (Bafia and Munyenge) fled their homes. An estimated 40,000 people have been internally displaced by the violence in the past six months in two subdivisions of Southwest region alone.

Ethiopia
Floods following heavy rains have been affecting several countries in East Africa since mid-April. Somalia , Kenya and Ethiopia are among the worst affected, but flooding has also affected populations in Tanzania, Rwanda and elsewhere in recent weeks.
This week, ACAPS highlights Ethiopia, where flash floods have affected Somali, Afar and Oromia regions, and some 165,000 people are in urgent need of cross-sectoral assistance in Somali region alone.

South Sudan
Increased fighting and attacks against aid organisations in Central Equatoria, Unity, and Jonglei states compound the humanitarian crisis and disrupt assistance.
In April, three aid workers were killed in Unity and 17 were held by armed groups in Central Equatoria. In Mundri, Central Equatoria, MSF suspended health care activities after an armed robbery on 24 April. In Leer, Unity, livelihoods assistance for 24,000 people was disrupted after an armed attack on the ICRC compound.
The impact of these incidents on humanitarian access is particularly concerning given that food security is projected to deteriorate from May to July, with some 155,000 people at risk of falling into Catastrophe (IPC Phase 5) if humanitarian assistance is not sustained.
