(8th August, 2013) - More than 15,000 people have been affected by floods in Unity State of which 5,000 household were displaced in state’s capital Bentiu.
The state Relief and Rehabilitation Commission Director, William Kuol Deng, said humanitarian support will follow an assessment which is underway.
Radio Miraya confirmed Bentiu as the most affected area with number of people taking refuge on higher ground.
Crops have been destroyed by the floods caused by heavy rains and the River Nile breaking its banks.
