(September 3, 2013) - More than 300 pupils at Liggi Primary school in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State, are learning in a makeshift shelter.
Heavy wind blew off the roof of the school last year and the Mugwo Payam community put up a temporary shelter.
The school supervisor, Amos Alexander Andrea, said some students have left the school due to the poor learning environment.
The chairperson of Mugwo Support Initiative, Johnas Anura, said a planned school for the community is yet to be constructed.
Mr Anura said if that doesn’t go ahead, the community expects the government to rehabilitate the existing school using the Constituency Development Fund.
