(September 8, 2013) - The Disabled, Orphans and Vulnerable Empowerment Organization (DOVEO) has sought to create awareness of the rights of the disabled in a one-day training seminar in Jonglei State.
Senior government officials were among those being trained in the rights of people living with disabilities.
The Chairperson of the Organization Bullen Deng Kuir told Radio Miraya that disabled people in the state are often denied their rights to education and employment.
"We have the right to talk.Wwe have a right to do anything like others. So we have a right for education," he said.
"We like to raise awareness among people. People used to say that people with disabilities were cursed by God. today we understand that a person with disability has not been cursed." he added.
