(September 12, 2013) - More than 44,000 households have been displaced by floods in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State. The displaced are in need of assistance.
The State County Commissioners have recently carried out an assessment of the affected areas and confirmed that the communities are in urgent need of food, shelter and medicines.
Deputy Governor, Salva Chol Ayat called for urgent intervention by humanitarian partners.
“There is need for urgent rescue because most of the people are now without shelter, they have no food, because they have been displaced from their areas where they could have got food,” he said.
“Their animals are also affected because after this flooding there were outbreaks of both animal and human diseases. ‘’
