(September 14, 2013) - The Commissioner of Aweil South, Northern Bahr el Ghazal state says flooding has isolated parts of his County from the state capital.
Commissioner Gel Manong Yel Magog said on Saturday he has communicated with the state and national governments to appeal for assistance to citizens.
He told Radio Miraya heavy flooding has made the roads of Maleng Alel and Mayirel impassable.
“So we are now standing, even other trucks have stacked in this place. Most of the areas are flooded, the citizens have move to higher ground.
“People have taken shelter in areas of Amerol, Marol, Wetdit and Werlou because their areas are all flooded.”
