(September 19, 2013) - A man was killed and two children have been abducted when four armed men invaded Bor town in Jonglei State.
The attackers reportedly killed the man on Wednesday night while he was trying to protect his children.
The attackers then escaped with his daughters, aged six and eight. The mother to the abductees and three other older children managed to escape.
Bor County Commissioner, Agot Alier confirmed the incident and said child abduction has become rampant not only in his county but in other areas of the state.
“This is not the only incident alone, several incidents have been happening, now people are still running trying to recover back these children,” he said.
"The police and some of the youth are chasing them, most probably they have moved to eastern direction and we are yet to know how far they have gone”
A neighbor to the family was injured in the incident.
