South Sudan (Republic of): Steps toward a greener future

UNITY [ACTED News] – ACTED is promoting environmental awareness among refugees and host communities in Ajuong Thok camp and Yida settlement in Unity State, South Sudan, in partnership with UNHCR. Unity State hosts over 70,900 refugees who have fled violence in South Kordofan State.This mass influx of people has put significant stress on natural resources.

ACTED is implementing a campaign to raise environmental awareness and combat deforestation through the distribution of over 7,000 tree seedlings to refugees and host communities as well as to local institutions such as Child friendly spaces, schools and clinics in Unity State.
