An operation to airlift South Sudanese from the Sudanese capital Khartoum back to South Sudan started on Tuesday this week.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) hopes that at the end of the two-week operation, 1,300 people it says are the most vulnerable will have returned to South Sudan.
They are among approximately 40,000 people who moved to open places in Khartoum in 2010 after the government of South Sudan promised to send transport for them to return to their country.
IOM spokesperson Jumbe Omari Jumbe tells Patrick Maigua in Geneva that his agency is conducting the airlift operation jointly with the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR).
