(Jan. 18, 2014) A delegation from the Sudanese Parliament has arrived in Juba with a donation of medicines and food for IDPs affected by conflict.
The delegation has brought in 35 tonnes of medicines, food and temporary shelter equipment.
Speaking to Journalists upon arrival Sudan parliamentary representative Omar Adam Rahma said the donation is a show of solidarity.
“People in Sudan or whether the government of Sudan and South Sudan we are one people we will stay one people not necessary in one country." says Omar Adam Rahma
A member of the South Sudan National Legislative assembly, Professor Paul Logale Jumi was part of the team that received the items. He welcomed the support.
“Even if its small, but it’s a good token to show the relationship and friendship we have, and this is the way we wish things go forward because brother in need is a friend indeed and Khartoum has shown it practically not by words but by physically and brought food and medicines in time we need it urgently and very grateful to think of us at this time.”
The Sudanese MPs will also meet with President Salva Kiir and government officials.
