(Jan. 18, 2014) Western Bahr el-Ghazal State has received another 145 displaced persons from Unity State.
The mayor of Wau municipality, Arkangelo Anyar Anyar, says the IDPs arrived in Wau, in addition to more than 500 who arrived over the past two days from Bentiu and Rubkona.
Arkangelo says the government and humanitarian groups are providing them with assistance.
Arkangelo acknowledges the strain the influx is putting on available commodities and resources.
He says the government will meet with the State chamber of commerce to organize for delivery of commodities.
