Highlights

• Around 575,500 people are displaced inside South Sudan, and another 112,200 people have fled to neighbouring countries.

• Aid organizations have assisted over 251,000 people so far; the majority outside UN bases in rural areas.

• Some 76,000 people – the highest number since the start of the conflict – are sheltered in eight UN bases, including 27,000 people in Malakal and over 35,000 in the two bases in Juba.

• Over 100 aid workers were relocated from Mingkaman, Lakes State, on 22 January following clashes nearby, causing a temporary suspension of aid operations in the area.

• Health staff traveled to Bor on 23 January to prepare for a measles vaccination campaign to start on 24 January.
