(Feb. 10, 2014) IDPs in Eastern Equatoria State have received non-food items from the Red Cross.
The Director of the Red Cross in Eastern Equatoria, Phillip Marcello Subek says the IDPs fled fighting in Bentiu, Unity State.
Marcello says non-food items have been distributed to more than 50 households comprising about 255 people.
“We have distributed to 55 households those people they came from Bentiu most of them are women and children so they have received our assistance non-food items comprised of buckets, mosquito nets and soaps and then sleeping mat this is what they have received from the office of South Sudan Red Eastern Equatoria state.”
Authorities in Eastern Equatoria State received the IDPs last week. The group mainly women and children, were originally from Eastern Equatoria but were settled in Bentiu with their families before the fighting broke out.
