(March. 5, 2014) The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Paul Malong Awan, has launched a skills training campaign for unemployed youths in the state.
Addressing a rally on Monday at the state Freedom Square in Aweil town, the governor asked all unemployed youths, to apply for the skills training project.
The project is targeting up to 500 youths who have completed primary, secondary or university education. The governor said the skills training campaign is intended to help the young men and women get skills that are relevant to the employment sector.
“We of course want to raise the level of students because there is high rate of unemployment in the country of south Sudan. So the youth of course are the ones who have the priority that if we get chance in police, we can send them to, if we get chance in the army, we can send them and if we get chance in civil service, we can send them.”
