UNHCR operational highlights
A joint UNHCR-National Commission for Refugees (CNR) mission went to Bas-Congo to talk with families in Tsekezole prior to a registration exercise, to inform and sensitize provincial and local authorities as well as the Migration Office (DGM) about the documents issued to refugees exempted to ensure their freedom of movement. Exemption is granted individually by DRC Government to those who are in exceptional situation despite the invocation of cessation clause. 327 refugee cards were delivered to Angolan refugees exempted in the province of Bas-Congo (Kimbianga, Lundumatende, Mfuiki and Tsekezole). These documents serve as identification for the holders.
