Authorities in Akobo County, Jonglei State have warned that areas within the county are facing food shortages because of insecurity.
County Commissioner, Goi Jok Yol says commercial vehicles carrying food items are not going to remote areas for fear of attacks by armed militants.
Yol, told Radio Miraya that the communities cultivated in their fields, but were disappointed by floods.
Yol, however notes that the youth have started up income generating activities such as brick making and fishing to raise income.
