(19 February, 2013) - Food production in South Sudan has increased by 40 per cent in 2012, compared to 2011, the Agriculture and Forestry minister said.
Betty Achan Ogwaro, encouraged farmers to engage in cash crop farming to boost production.
Speaking to journalists in Juba on Tuesday, Achan, said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is formulating a master plan to look into the types of crops and areas where they can grow best and their market opportunities.
She said the master plan will be ready by 2014.
