(7th August, 2013) - More than 6,700 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Pochalla County, Jonglei State lack access to food and medical services.
The Pochalla County Coordinator for the South Sudan Relief Rehabilitation Commission (SSRRC), Okwier Ojullo Omot, told Radio Miraya on Wednesday that the county suffered insecurity due to the ongoing inter-communal conflicts in the state.
“We have been faced by insecurity since January until now, people are suffering from hunger and diseases,” he said.
“We are requesting the humanitarian agencies to bring food to the people.
Last month, thousands of people fled inter-communal violence and clashes between armed forces and militia loyal to David Yau Yau.
