(March. 17, 2014) The United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF plans to increase its lifesaving interventions in Bor, Malakal, Juba and Bentui.
UNICEF chief operations officer in South Sudan, Abdul Khadi Musa, says UNICEF has finalized its plan to select nine locations outside the Protection Of Civillians ’sites where more than 90 percent of the internally displaced persons are located.
He was speaking in Bor on saturday shortly after carrying out an assessment of humanitarian emergencies in Bor.
Musa said UNICEF is working with its partners to mobilise a rapid response team to reach those people in the hard to reach areas of South Sudan.
“We are mobilizing a rapid response team together with IOM and coalition of NGOs so that we can reach the most unreachable communities in Nasir, Akobo, Melut and various places in greater Upper Nile State."
