The World Health Organization (WHO) says that the polio vaccination campaign has been postponed in some parts of Rumbek town, Lakes State due to tribal clashes in the area.
Speaking to Radio Miraya, WHO Medical Officer, Yahia Mustafa, says despite the interruption of the campaign, most children have been vaccinated in the country.
Mustafa, called on parents whose children have not been vaccinated, to take their children to the nearest health center for vaccination.
Meanwhile, the Director for Expanded Program on Immunization in the National Ministry of Health, Anthony Laku, says polio immunization is important because there have been no cases of the virus reported in the country since 2009.
